About
Conklin Dairy Cattle Sales, LLC is a fourth generation, family-owned dairy cattle brokerage firm specializing in the growth and development of first-calf Holstein heifers. They supply high quality heifers and cows to dairy producers across the United States. They have made an honest living and gained a sterling reputation in the business by holding over 600 public auctions as a private owner of livestock, the most by any company in the United States.
Historically Conklin Dairy started as a family farm in 1919. Through the 1930’s the business included the sales of different types of farm animals.
Gary’s father, Bob Conklin, joined the business in the early 1950’s after serving three years in the U.S. Air Force. During this time through the 1990’s auctions was the mainstay of Conklin Dairy. At the Plain City facility, Conklin hosted over 550 auctions. Bob continues to serve as Chairman of the Board.
Gary Conklin joined the business after graduating from The Ohio State University in 1980. Today’s business focus is selling Holstein heifers directly to dairies throughout the Midwest and Southeastern United States. As president of the company, Gary oversees the day-to-day operations at the Plain City location as well as all purchases and sales of heifers. Along with the cattle brokerage, Gary actively serves on a number of boards and committees in the community. Also included in his duties are sales and purchases of heifers.
